Tuesday Night Social Doubles

Tuesday night social doubles is played every Tuesday night at 6.00pm. This competition is social competition designed for player just starting out. There are no nominations and there is no pressure to turn up every week. Just turn up when you can.

Rules: Players are split up into groups of 4. Those groups then for a team of 2 and play against the other 2 in a group. Players play 4 games (Giving each player 1 serve each) before moving onto the next court to play against a new team.

Play Time: Typically this event will run for 2.5 hours finishing at 8pm each night.

Points: With this being a social competition there are no points handed out and no winner.

Cost: The cost to play each night is $6.00

Wednesday Night Fast 4

Wednesday night Fast 4 tennis is played every Wednesday night at 6.30pm using the Fast 4 format. This competition is designed to cater to all skillsets. Teams are designed to create an even competitiion, making it more enjoyable.

Rules: Players are split evenly into teams of 2, ranked as a number 1 or a number 2 player. Each week you play another team of 2, consisting of 2 singles matches and 1 doubles match in the following format:

1 vs 1

2 vs 2

1 & 2 vs 1 & 2

Matches are played using the Fast 4 format. Meaning each set is first to 4 with a 5  point tiebreaker at 3 all. Each match is best of 2 sets with a 5 point tiebreaker to determine the match if the set score is 1 all.

5 point tiebreaker is a first to 5 tiebreaker. Each player serves 2 times before changing ends and repeating the process. If the score after 8 serves is 4 all. The racket is spun to decide who serves the ball in a sudden death point.

Other rules unique to Fast 4 tennis is that there is no Let balls. If the ball hits the net off a serve and still lands in the service square. It is play on. Another rule is the power play rule. Players are able to announce that they would like a power play once per set excluding tiebreakers, The next point after the announcement is then worth 2 points to the player who announced the power play if they win the point.

Play Time: Typically this event will run for 1.75 hours finishing at 8.15pm each night.

Points: Players are awarded 1 point for each match that they or their partner wins. In the event that 2 teams are on the same points, positions are determined by a for and against for sets, and then games.

Cost: The cost to play each night is $10.00

Thursday Night Div 1 & 2 Doubles

Thursday night div 1 & 2 doubles is our premier competition run every Thursday night at 6.30pm. Some of Inverell's best and brightest player fight it out each week to determine our division 1 and 2 champions. This competition is suited to experienced players.

Rules: This format runs on a team of 3 players. Each night, 6 sets of doubles tennis are played against other teams in the same division using the below format

1 & 2 Vs 1 & 2

1 & 3 Vs 1 & 3

2 & 3 Vs 2 & 3

1 & 2 Vs 1 & 2

1 & 3 Vs 1 & 3

2 & 3 Vs 2 & 3

Set's are determined on the first team to reach 6 games with no tiebreaker played at 5 games all.

Play Time: Typically this event will run for 3.5 hours finishing at 10.00pm each night.

Points: Players are awarded 1 point for each set that they have won. If 2 teams are tied on points, positioning is determined on for and against for sets and then games.

Cost: The cost to play each night is $10.00

Saturday Afternoon Doubles

Saturday afternoon doubles is social competition designed any player of any skill set. Saturday afternoon doubles runs every Saturday at 2pm.

Rules: This format runs on a team of 2 players. Each afternoon 3 sets of tennis are played with a tiebreaker at 5 games all.

Play Time: Typically this event will run for 2.5 hours finishing at 4.30pm each afternoon.

Points: Players are awarded 1 point for each match that they or their partner wins. In the event that 2 teams are on the same points, positions are determined by a for and against for sets, and then games.

Cost: The cost to play each night is $6.00

Sunday Morning Junior Tennis

Sunday morning junior tennis is our junior competition run every Sunday at 9am. Teams consist of 2 or 3 players decided on each week and players are matched up against other teams of a similar skill level. This competition is designed for juniors 18 years and younger of any skill set.

Rules: This format runs on a 2 or 3 team format depending on numbers. Each player will then play 1 Singles set and 3 Doubles sets in a first to 4 format.

Play Time: Typically this event will run for 3 hours finishing at 12pm each day.

Points: Points are rewarded to individuals rather than a team. A player receives 1 point for each set they win. Points are whiped in the final week with a 1vs2, 3vs4 etc playoff.

Cost: The cost to play each night is $10.00
